Tillie C. Ludwig, 86, of Austin, PA, died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Born on October 24, 1925 in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of Louis and Anna Carrino Celia. She married Boyd Ludwig in Emporium, PA and he died on August 21, 1976.
Mrs. Ludwig was a longtime resident of Austin and was employed for many years as a machine operator for Emporium Specialties Company. She had served with the Women’s Army Corps in the 1940’s. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a former member of VFW Post 7810 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are one daughter, Juanita Allman and her husband, David, of Austin, PA, five grandchildren, Jennifer Blimline and her fiancé, Joseph Johnson, Valerie Kriner, Daniel Blimline and his wife, Wendy, Royal Evans and her husband, Robert, and Amber Allman, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, Louis Celia and his wife, Sarah, of Buffalo, NY and Vito Celia and his wife, Edna, of Utah, two sisters, Marie Williams of Cheektowaga, NY and Nina Amaroso of Angola, NY, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, John Lewis Ludwig and two sisters, Mildred Black and Rosalie Gretch.
Friends are invited to attend Tillie’s Life Celebration beginning on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 with visitation from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Thursday at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Reverend Joseph Dougherty, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Portage Township Cemetery in Gardeau, PA.
