Winter Weather Advisory issued February 29 at 10: 07AM EST until February 29 at 1:00PM EST by NWS

Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 10:07 AM EST on February 29, 2012

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM EST this
afternoon...


* locations... the north central and northeast mountains.

* Hazard types... snow... sleet and freezing rain.

* Accumulations... up to 1 inch of snow and a very thin glaze of
ice possible.

* Timing... the mixed precipitation will turn to plain rain by
early this afternoon as temperatures slowly warm into the mid
30s.

* Impacts... a light accumulation of snow and ice on area sidewalks
and untreated roadways... which would make it slippery.

* Winds... southeast 5 to 10 mph.

* Temperatures... warming into the mid 30s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

Motorists should be especially cautious on bridges and
overpasses... where slippery spots develop first. Stay tuned to
