SALAMANCA - Derek J. Emerson, 26, of 115 Academy St. died Monday (Feb. 27, 2012) at his home.
Born Oct. 16, 1985 in Olean, he was the son of George and Alice Schriener Emerson of Little Valley, who survive.
He was employed as a laborer for Composite Product Solutions in Cattaraugus.
Mr. Emerson enjoyed four wheeling and loved animals, especially his three golden retrievers.
Surviving besides his parents are his fiancee, Amanda Rail, of Salamanca; a sister, Lori (Larry) Babcock, of Olean; a brother, Craig (Tammy) Emerson, of Port Allegany, Pa.; a nephew; and two nieces.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, (March 1, 2012) at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held. Father Patrick Melfi, pastor of Our Lady of Peace Parish, will officiate. Burial will be in Little Valley Rural Cemetery in Little Valley.
