Detectives asked the public to be on the lookout for Ken Konias, 22, of the Dravosburg area, described as white, 6 feet tall and possibly armed with two guns. Police searched his home this evening but did not find him there.
Mr. Konias had been working today with a fellow employee of Garda Cash Logistics. That man was found dead of a gunshot wound to the back of the head just before 4 p.m. in the back of the vehicle near railroad tracks beneath the 31st Street Bridge. A Garda office is nearby on 33rd Street.
Police believe the vehicle could have been idling there for several hours before the discovery.
"We're not sure if anything was taken at this point," said Cmdr. Thomas Stangrecki of the city's major crimes unit, whose robbery and homicide detectives were called to the scene. He urged anyone with information on Mr. Konias' whereabouts to call detectives at 412-323-7161.
Police also were looking for two vehicles that were seen in the area.
One is is a tan Ford Explorer driven by a caucasian man about 22 years old, approximately 160 to 170 pounds and bald -- believed to be Mr. Konias.
The other was a gray-blue 2011 Mercedes, but officers may have found it, according to police radio dispatches about 6:15 p.m.
