Jonothan Prather Pleads Guilty To First Degree Murder Of Samuel Miller

Prather Pleads to First Degree Murder

Jonothan Prather of Coudersport pleaded guilty Wednesday in Potter County Court to first degree murder in the death of Samuel Miller of Eldred last June near Prouty Creek in Austin.

Potter County District Attorney Andy Watson testified during the plea hearing that Miller had died of eight gunshot wounds from a .22 rifle, including three to the head.

The 20 year-old Prather will be sentenced on March 26 and faces life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Two co-defendants, 26 year-old Avery Buckingham of Austin and 16 year-old Kaylynn Benson of Coudersport still await their fates in the case.
