2 Fatal Accidents In Clearfield County Saturday

DuBOIS - Two Clearfield County men were killed in separate traffic accidents Saturday.

DuBois-based state police responded to a fatal one-vehicle accident that killed David A. Longo, 58, Penfield, on Route 255 north of Penfield, Huston Township, at 1:20 a.m. Saturday.

Longo, who was driving a 1989 Chevrolet 1500 pick-up truck north on Route 255, went off the east berm and hit a tree head-on.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clearfield County Coroner Mike Morris. He was not wearing a seatbelt. His vehicle sustained severe damage.

Police were assisted by Penfield Volunteer Fire Department and Bennetts Valley Ambulance.

Later in the morning, Clearfield-based state police responded to a fatal one-vehicle accident that killed Edward L. Montini, 72, Clearfield, on Goshen Road, Goshen Township, at 11:25 a.m. Saturday. More..
