ROULETTE - Hazel M. Litzinger, 86, of Burleson Avenue, went home to be with our Lord Thursday (Feb. 9, 2012).
Born Sept. 7, 1925, she was a daughter of John and Delilah Brace Cottrell. In 1949, she married our wonderful father, Leonard A. Litzinger, who passed May 5, 1998, after 48 years of marriage.
Hazel attended Otto High School in Duke Center. She had resided in Macedonia, Ohio, where she worked as an assistant for several doctors, moving to Roulette in 1980.
Hazel was everyone's loving mother and was famous for her baking and cooking skills - Oh, those apple pies! "Ma Bell" enjoyed talking to family and friends on the phone. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In the summer she could be found on her back porch soaking up the sunshine.
Surviving are son, Leonard (Denise) Litzinger of Peninsula, Ohio; three daughters, Janice Litzinger of Roulette, Peggy (James) Bliss of Port Allegany and Lena (Rich) Hayes of Coudersport; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, Milford Cottrell of Rixford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Elaine Pelc; as well as four brothers; and one sister.
Friends are invited to a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Alliance Church in Coudersport with the Rev. Bernie Knefley, pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Roulette Ambulance or Visiting Nurse Association.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred.
