LONG ANNOUNCES COUNTY-WIDE REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP

LONG ANNOUNCES COUNTY-WIDE
REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP

Carl Long, Republican County Chairman, announced the formation of the first ever county-wide “Republican Leadership Workshop” earlier today.

The Republican Leadership Workshop is an event at which one federal and one state level legislator and/or department/agency delegate will empower our local leaders and volunteers on how to get more involved through stronger collaborations and communications, while also creating a face-to-face venue at which local concerns can be heard. Long intends on eventually including one local speaker into the event, so that those in leadership positions on local, state and federal levels can all become better informed about issues of immediate local concern, which they may otherwise be unfamiliar, from those residents and organizations of Potter County which are being directly affected.

“My goal is to give our County a stronger voice in government and to create an educational platform through which our local Republican leaders can develop the skills and knowledge necessary to do their jobs more confidently and effectively,” stated Long. “I believe that a united platform, such as the Republican Leadership Workshop, will give our County a stronger presence on state and federal levels and will create a more united voice among our locally elected officials and volunteers, as they express the concerns of the County as a whole,” added Long.

Long has invited State Senator Joe Scarnati and U.S. Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson to speak at this year’s Workshop set for April 4th, together with former Republican County Chairman, D. Bruce Cahilly. Reservations for the event will be accepted next week after the details of the event are more fully solidified, according to Long.
