Last Chance to Register for PA Wilds 2nd regional workshop on sustainable tourism development!

Last Chance to Register for PA Wilds 2nd regional workshop on sustainable tourism development!

Time is short for teams to submit an application to attend the PA Wilds Planning Team’s spring workshop to help them take their community project from vision to action.

“PA Wilds Spring Workshop: Connecting nature, economy, and community character,” will be held over three days, April 25-27, at the Red Fern in St. Marys.

Similar to the conference the PA Wilds Planning Team held in 2007 (which got great reviews), this one is an excellent opportunity to hear from national and statewide experts on topics relevant to the PA Wilds region, and for you and your team to take your idea from vision to action.

Ted Eubanks, founder of Fermata Inc., will keynote the conference. Eubanks is a writer, photographer, naturalist and certified interpretive planner who has worked both nationally and internationally in the fields of sustainable recreation and sustainable tourism, including on the PA Wilds Initiative. The conference will include presentations on asset mapping, funding, sustainability, message crafting, building strategic partnerships and more.

Applications and an updated working agenda are available at
www.pawildsresources.org.

Conference organizers will be accepting six to eight teams from across the PA Wilds. The strongest teams will have five to seven people from a variety of backgrounds – small business owners, public lands managers, municipal officials, heritage and tourism professionals and community activists – who together bring a wide range of skill sets and knowledge to the table to help push projects forward. A passion for the work is a must.

Applications are due March 12.
