Shawn A. Prencipe, 53, of East Main Street, Bradford, PA


Bradford--Shawn A. Prencipe, 53, of East Main Street, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday (Feb. 29, 2012) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 5, 1958, in Ridgway, he was a son of Anthony and Marilyn Harps Prencipe. On Nov. 3, 1990, he married Carol Astle, who survives.

Mr. Prencipe was a longtime resident of the area and a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1977.

He was employed as a machine operator for Bradford Forest Products before having to retire.

He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Wesleyan Church of Bradford.

He loved to work on automobiles, enjoyed wood-working and remodeling, and was an avid traveler. He also enjoyed time with his extended family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Carol, are a twin brother, John W. (Jeanette) Prencipe of Johnsonburg; a brother, Paul M. (Leanne) Prencipe of Ridgway; a sister, Victoria A. Prencipe of Lakeland, Fla.; six grandchildren; a stepson, Charles M. (Charlene) Fischer Jr. of Port Allegany; and a stepsister, Cathleen Y. (Jerry) Bosworth of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Port Allegany, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
