Pittsburgh police continue to search for a Dravosburg man who they say killed a fellow armed security guard in a heist on Tuesday, and this morning they sought the public's help in finding an SUV they believe the fugitive is driving.

Kenneth John Konias Jr., 22, who faces charges of homicide, robbery and theft, is likely driving a tan or champagne-colored 2006 Ford Explorer, police said today. The license plate is Pennsylvania GZW-4572. Police at first believed Mr. Konias was driving a 2002 model of the same vehicle.

Detectives have told law enforcement agencies nationwide to be on the hunt for Mr. Konias, who they said killed 31-year-old Michael Haines while the two were operating an armored truck for Garda Cash Logistics. Employees found Mr. Haines, of East McKeesport, dead of a single gunshot wound to the back of the head inside the cargo area of the truck, which had been abandoned underneath the 31st Street Bridge in the Strip District.

Police urged anyone with information on Mr. Konias' whereabouts to call 911 or city homicide detectives at 412-323-7161.
