Carl B. Brown, 75, of 58 South Gate Road, passed away, Wednesday, February 29th, 2012 at the Bradford Manor, surrounded by his loving wife and daughter.
Born March 29, 1936, in Olean, was the son of the late Cecil and Wilma (Simar) Brown.
On June 2, 1964, in Bradford he married Gloria (Passauer) Brown who died June 28, 1983 and later on June 6, 1998, he married Joyce (Bennett-Ostrander) Brown who survives.
Mr. Brown was a 1954 graduate of Bradford High School and attended the University of Buffalo. He had worked at Corning Glass. He entered the United States Air Force on May 14, 1957 and was honorably discharged on May 13, 1963. He returned to the area and again worked for Corning Glass. He later was employed at Brown & Son Oil Company, then self employed at Brown & Brown Oil. He had also owned and operated Brown Beer & Beverage.
He was a very benevolent man in the community and will be sadly missed.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Samantha Brown Gutshall, three grandchildren, Amanda Gutshall, Stephanie Gutshall and Robert J. Gutshall and one great granddaughter Brielle Gutshall.
Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 17th, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00am in the First United Methodist Church, at 11:00am a memorial service will be held with Rev. Tom Verner pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc.
