Do you remember those Home Interior parties back in the day? I remember my mom filling up her walls & shelves with all things brass. It's amazing all the stuff she bought & she still has it all, too. Even have a few on her walls now. I keep telling her she needs to donate them or freshin them up a bit. But alas, she is set in her ways. i'm not a fan of brass, but really thought these kitties were too cute.

I had picked up these two brass cats that were my grandmothers a while back. Instead of keeping them in their current state (the ugly brass color), I decided they needed a simple change in color...Turquoise!

After wiping them down, I gave them a few coats of paint. I used Krylon brand spray paint, in a glossy finish. I decided to save the other one & paint it pink, to go in Corinne's room (not shown).

The tall one sits on my kitchen counter, nestled next to my houseplants. I love how pretty it looks. It's amazing how a few simple coats of paint can dramatically change simple little things to brighten up any room.
