Baby Olive and Oliver

Remember Olive the Owl? With lots of friends having babies in March, I thought it would be fun to recreate the Olive pattern with a baby twist.  These made unique little baby gifts to bring to two new mommies.  Both friends were so excited to announce the birth of their little ones with these fun door hangers. After the "newness" of the event has passed, the hangers can be moved to the nursery. You can easily recreate these gifts using the "Olive Pattern".  The pattern provides all of the pieces you need to make your own creative owl for any occasion.

Both Olive and Oliver (pink and blue) were creating using the My Mind's Eye Lush 1 line.  Instead of buttons for eyes, I just punched brown cardstock and added a little diamond glaze to finish it off. For the signs, I tried two different approaches depending on the length of the baby's name.
