On this date in 1979, The Pack released their second single, "King Of Kings". It was backed by "Number 12". This was the second of two singles by the London punk band who broke up in 1980. Frontman Kirk Brandon went on to front Theatre Of Hate. Drummer Rab Fae Beith went on to The Wall after the first single. He was replaced by ex-PIL drummer Jim Walker for this second release. Although the band did not release anything other than the two singles while intact, a series of posthumous releases found their way into circulation. A 1980 release called Kirk Brandon & The Pack Of Lies contained all four single sides.
