our dream...
Steve and I have a common dream. To one day have a barn. Not just any barn. A barn similar to the one above. I am trying to release positive energy to the Universe and maybe one day this could be possible and you ALL are invited to our Autum Harvest party (s) held in the barn, of course. ;)
You can see this barn and more here.

from watermelon to Amoxicillan
So within about 2 days we went from eating delicious juicy watermelon on a beautiful afternoon in our backyard....
...to taking all 3 kids to the doctor and finding out they all have ear and sinus infections! This is what the kids looked like this afternoon after coming home from the doctors. Poor little guys. :(
DC Implosion
It wasn't a dumb crossover. It wasn't a stupid reboot. No, it was a massive cancellation of comic titles!
History
Explosion to Implosion
DC Comics did a marketing campaign between 1975 to 1978, during which 57 comic titles were premiered. This was known as "The DC Explosion". But, there was one unexpected foe who caused disastrous results: Old Man Winter! Due the Great Lakes Blizzard of 1977 and 1978, DC had extremely poor sales. For that and other economic reasons, DC has a massive cancellation of comic titles! Known as the "DC Implosion" (making fun of "The DC Explosion"), there were 65 cancellations! Also, the company had less than eight comics! Notable cancelled titles were All-Star Comics, Army at War, Aquaman, Mister Miracle, Shade the Changing Man, Black Lightning and Batman Family ("merged" with Detective Comics).
Cancelled Comic Cavalcade
Much of the unprinted work (that went unsold) actually did see print in Cancelled Comic Cavalcade, which had 2 issues. The content ranged from completed to uncompleted work. The original artwork was given to the rightful owners.

cute kid rooms
I looked at real estate here in Utah daily ever since Steve and I got married, I still find myself looking at it from time to time even though we own a house, just for fun...???? A little strange I know. But I bet I could tell you Utah's real estate market trends for the last 7 years, that's how often I looked at it.
Anyhow, I always look at houses for sale in our area and found this darling house West of us. I don't know who this girl is but I am tempted to knock on her door and introduce myself. Her house is darling! Here are 2 of the rooms in her house. I just love them. And the pink/red combination above is darling.

Catherine Deneuve
For some odd reason last night I found myself watching an old French film called Mississippi Mermaid. The name intrigued me and so did the cinematography. It had a kind of Alfred Hitchcock feel to it. It was all subtitled and reminded me of my college days when I was a bit more "cultured" (or maybe I just had more time on my hands) and watched foreign films with subtitles often.
The actress was gorgeous and I was amazed at how timeless her look was. You could have taken her out of that film and put her in a film today and the transition would have seemed flawless.
The actress was Catherine Deneuve. Absolutely stunning and again mind-boggling how current her look was even 50 years ago in 1969.

I love this picture below, and love even more that dress and that heart necklace (minus the cone shaped bra of course...why was that look ever popular?).

what a smart aleck...
My husband lovingly mocked me today when I told him happily that I am figuring out my style...he looked at me in all seriousness and said,
"Oh, thanK gooDness. I have been waiting soooo long for you to figure out your style...few..."
Ha! What a smart aleck. I love that he puts it all in perspective for me. Really at the end of the day it isn't that big of a deal if I've found my style or not. (but between you and me, I am still happy about it).
Above are fabrics and wallpaper from pierre-deux. Okay, I cannot be the only one who thinks that blue and yellow wallpaper is gorgeous?

my style & my flowers....
First off...my peonies have bloomed!!! They are gorgeous huge blossoms with layers and layers of silky pink petals. So in love. We also have star lilies, dahlias, gladiolas, day lilies, roses (so many roses) and many other varieties of flowers I have yet to figure out the name of. I am taking pictures tonight just so I can enjoy these beauties when February rolls around.
So I have always struggled with my "style". I have thought for a long time that it is just eclectic, and while that is true I have discovered lately that I am eclectic because I can't afford my style. I love European fabrics and design. Humphhh...oh well, I can figure out a more economic way to get what I want, right.?

Above is a look I love, it is all done in Pierre-Deux fabric. Oh Pierre, please have a really big sale with free shipping someday!
Here are some websites, blogs, etc. of the style I just love:

Happy Father's Day!
This year for Father's Day I did pictures with our friend John of the kids. These mustache pictures were a surprise for him (if you know Steve, you know his secret love of mustaches) and it was worth it to hear him laugh again and again. We have these 3 photos blown up and hanging in our office.
Happy Father's Day to a wonderful husband and father! Love you!
