TNT cancels Jason Lee's "Memphis Beat" Oct 16th 2011, 21:31 By Kim Palacios hollywoodnews.com: Just weeks after Jason Lee's role opposite Maya Rudolph in the parenthood comedy "Up All Night" was confirmed, so also is confirmed the cancellation of his TNT series, "Memphis Beat." The former "My Name is Earl" star played alongside Alfre Woodward as a music-loving detective who rattles his boss (Woodward). The show was in its second season and was executive produced by George Clooney. The cancellation of "Memphis Beat" marks the latest of casualties in a series of multi-network cancellations. The stop-order on production of ABC's "Charlie's Angels" and CBS's "How to Be a Gentleman" are also just several days old. Another notable cancellation for TNT is "Men of a Certain Age," which may have underwhelmed in ratings but was much-loved by critics and fans. By contrast, "Arrested Development," which was cancelled by Fox in its third season in 2006, has recently been revived with another 10 episodes and a feature film in the pipeline.
