The upcoming event marks the 40th year of Dick Clark emceeing the event. In recent years, Clark has been accompanied by mega-host Ryan Seacrest, who has taken over the heavy lifting in light of Clark's advanced age. In 2011, Ke$ha and Taio Cruz performed live from Times Square; singer Fergie and actress Jenny McCarthy also hosted parts of the show.
