When in Rome

Rome is so full of history and culture.  I learned so much traveling around this ancient city (despite the scorching hot temperatures!).  Our first stop was Vatican City.
It was an amazing experience to be in such a historic city. The Vatican is also where I got my favorite gelato of the trip.  It was delightful!

All of the ancient sites were so neat to see.  The Colosseum and the Forum were just how I imagined.  I cannot believe that they were built without the use of machinery.  Amazing!

We took one of our days in Rome and hopped on a train headed to the Almafi Coast.  Although it was a super quick trip, it was totally worth it.  I definitely have Sorrento on my "go back" list. From the coast of Sorrento, we could also see Mt. Vesuvius which was super neat.
It was the perfect way to conclude an amazing European excursion.  I am so thankful for this once in a lifetime opportunity! Thanks for reminiscing about my journey with me!
