On this date in 1979, Sex Pistols released their twelfth single, "The Great Rock 'N" Roll Swindle". It was backed by "Rock Around The Clock". Both songs appeared on the soundtrack to the movie, The Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle. Johnny Rotten had left the band 20 months before the release of this single, effectively ending Sex Pistols as a band in January of 1978, but singles kept getting released by those in control and anything associated with The Sex Pistols still sold. The single reached the #21 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The lead vocalist of the B side was Eddie Tudor-Pole of Tenpole Tudor.
