The Mekons - This Sporting Life

On this date in 1980, The Mekons released their seventh single, "This Sporting Life". It was backed by "Fight The Cuts". Both tracks appeared on their third album, The Mekons Story, which was actually a compilation. The B side was actually recorded in 1977 but did not appear on an album until this compilation. Although the A side was not on an album previously, it had been released in 1981 on a 12 inch with two other tracks. The Leeds, England punk/post punk band still records and performs.
