On this date in 1980, The Specials released their second album, More Specials. It contained the singles, "Stereotype" (#6 U.K.) and "Do Nothing" (#4 U.K.). The U.S. version of the album also included "Rat Race" (#5 U.K.). The album reached the #5 spot on the U.K. albums chart and the #98 spot on the U.S. albums chart. The Coventry, England ska band listed their name as Special A.K.A. for some records, a practice that they sometimes employed even before the departure of Terry Hall, Lynval Golding and Neville Staples (to form Fun Boy Three in 1981). They re-formed last year and did some touring. Jerry Dammers did not join them.
