30, Flirty and Thriving Photo Shoot

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing another special friend who is turning 30 next month.  Emily has worked so hard to tone up her amazing body in the past year so it was lots of a treat to dress her up and take some pics to celebrate.  After this fun play date, I have to say...It is so great to be a girl!

These are a few of my favorite images from the shoot.

Happy Birthday Emily!!! I hope you have a wonderful day and a fabulous year!

Also, posting these pictures makes me think I need a new photo shoot myself! :)

Ann's "You Are Special Day"

My cute friend Ann turns 30 today!  Since I just crossed the 30 threshold myself, and know that it can be a little unnerving, I got together with Ann to help her celebrate her birthday.  A few weeks back, we did her hair and got her all fancied up and then did a little photo shoot. I called it her "You are Special Day!" Let's face it, it is always fun to get dressed up and pose for the camera.  I had so much fun photographing this beautiful blue eyed girl!  I especially love the color contrast in these photos. Her red coat (and my favorite mustard hat) were the perfect pops of color! Happy Birthday Friend!!!

Summer Lovin'

As I am looking forward to fall, I couldn't help but enjoy one of the last great summer weekends we will have in 2011.  This last Saturday I jumped at the chance to visit Lagoon (the local theme park) with my sister and her two little boys.  Walking through the park brought back so many memories of junior high and the thrill of adolescence! It was also so much fun to see the excitement (and fear) in the little boys eyes as they rode the rides.  Kids are so great!  I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures from our day out at the park.

This ride made me laugh so hard.  I rode with Boston and I just held out my camera the entire time and took running shots of his expressions.  So fun to capture the moment.

I was actually shocked when Boston rode this ride with me.  He was so scared to go on everything.  I think the fact that most of the ride was camouflaged in the trees helped.

If you can't tell, I am loving the vibrant/vintage effects for these amusement park photos.  It just makes the colors so vivid and fun!

*Camera Hint *The sports settings on your camera are a great way to capture roller coaster shots.

Head Shots

Last night I got together with a good friend who needed a new headshot for work.  I find so much joy in photographing people and capturing their beauty on camera! Kirsten had lots of amazing shots to choose from, but I thought I would share just a few of my favorites with you.
I think the colors in this photo are simply lovely!  And the best part is, none of them are photoshopped.  The delightful teal door behind Kirsten is on Main Street in Kaysville.
Love the vintage quality of this print.
Photoshop makes photography even more fun!

The colors in this print are so bright and fun. I am jealous of  those blue eyes!
